Matt McCarthy, LCPC
Psychotherapist, Owner

Therapy is a place to slow down, feel our feelings, and reflect on our choices. Some of my clients use therapy to address specific mental health issues, others just need a consistent chance to process life's ups and downs. After 10+ years working in the mental health field, I've helped clients address a wide range of concerns, but most often work with people on anxiety, relationships/dating, trauma (including EMDR), and ADHD. As a former full-time musician, I'm also uniquely aware of the emotional challenges artists face, and love working with creators of all types.

In therapy, your job is to identify goals and challenges that you're facing, and to explore them with curiosity. My job is to provide structure, offer ideas and strategies, and help you push past the surface level. While part of my job is to help you leave your comfort zone, we first want to establish a trusting therapeutic relationship.

We’ll know that therapy is working when you can balance kindness and accountability with yourself, maintain meaningful connections with loved ones, and regularly experience moments of contentment. Within that, we'll work together to clarify your specific goals and create a plan for how to reach them. I'm excited to meet you.
